About Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes is an auto-immune disorder that affects a person's ability to control blood sugar levels within their own body.  When a person's blood sugar is too high or too low, serious side effects can occur including loss of conciousness, coma, and even death.  Type 1 Diabetes is a life-long illness that never takes a day off.  Those with Type 1 Diabetes must get insulin via shots or pump to live.  Type 1 Diabetes is not contagious, and it is not caused by eating too much sugar.  Please visit the websites below to find out more information about Type 1 Diabetes.
