Erin Aylor, MS/RD, MEd
Founder & Adminstrator

Erin received both a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science Education from the University of Central Arkansas.  She completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  She later received both her Master of Science in Nutrition (HRM-Foodservice Systems Management) from Auburn University and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership (School Administration) from Arkansas Tech University.  She is a registered dietitian and and holds teaching and administrator licensure.  She is a member of the Arkansas Department of Health's Diabetes Advisory Council and a member of the Arkansas and American Dietetic Associations.  Her past experience includes being a dietitian for Camp Joslin Diabetes Camp, teaching online undergraduate nutrition classes for Kaplan University, and serving as Child Nutrition Supervisor in a school district with over 5,000 students.  She works for the Dardanelle School District as a teacher for elementary students with special needs.  During her years working in the public school system in a variety of positions, she has seen first-hand the struggles of children in need.  She has had type 1 diabetes since June of 2008.  Erin has been married for 17 years to Warren Aylor and has two beautiful boys, Max (10-02) and Asa Jordan (5-07). 

Melinda Taylor, LMFT, LPC, MS

Melinda is a licensed family therapist with a master's degree from John Brown University.  Her professional counseling focuses on healing families, marriages, and hearts of children.  She utilizes Christian counseling practices in her sessions.  She has extensive experience with helping hurting children in need, and she understands the ins and outs of public child welfare assistance agencies and organizations.  She is a former administrator for an organization that assists children with the tandem problems of significant mental health issues and an unsafe living environments.  Melinda has a thriving private practice which has recently added an associate to provide more opportunity to assist those in the River Valley.  She is an avid motorcyclist and a supporter of Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA). 



Harold Taylor (husband of Melinda Taylor, pictured above)

Harold earned a Bachelor of Science in Math at NSU, a Master of Science in Management from Troy State University, and is a retired Army Major who faithfully served to protect and defend our country for 21 years.  He is utilizing his heart for kids in a variety of ways.  He is currently a juvenille probation officer in the Arkansas River Valley.  He is also President of the Flatrock Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA).




 
Haylea Parks

Haylea Parks is an aspiring journalist with a heart for teens with Type 1 Diabetes.  Haylea herself knows all about the struggles teens with diabetes face. Diagnosed at 12 months of age with Type 1 Diabetes, her entire life has been spent with the disease. Haylea graduated in May 2011 with a degree in journalism from John Brown University.  She has already been published in the American Diabetes Association's monthly printed and online publication Diabetes Forecast which has a subscriber readership of 445,000 (Read Haylea's Article).  This opportunity to share her heart about the struggles young diabetics face has provided inspiration to thousands.  She sees her future as an opportunity to help those who are medically fragile, unserved, and unable to successfully transition into adulthood without Christian assistance.
 

Kim Cocklin Speer, BSN, RN (Former Board Member, Founding Member)

Kim received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas.  She works at Arkansas Children's Hospital as the recovery room nurse manager ensuring quality control in all aspects of recovery room care.  Kim resides in Conway with her family.  Kim is married to Chuck and has two active sons, Logan and Lukas.  In a very unusual event, both her husband Chuck and her then 4-year-old son Logan were both diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in the same year!  She and her family are active in the JDRF Walk for Diabetes.  The Speer family's most recently celebrated event is that of Chuck winning the 2009 "Stuck on a Truck" contest in Conway, Arkansas.  Chuck was able to keep one hand on the truck for over 90 hours!  His prize? A brand-new Ford truck for the family.  Kim is a BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) leader.  One of her favorite Bible passages is Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
